I absolutely did not have high expectations about it. I purposely did not search for wherever we were going, so my head just wanted to explode with delight the moment the boat started moving. It was just blue sea, sky, and lush greens around us. I think I was drooling the entire time.
Our first stop was Natago Beach.
That house can be rented out for 5k, good for 15 pax according to our boat captain. |
I wasn't able to take photos of the entrance to the beach after going down the rocky path. We all kind of just dove in the water after securing our things.
Next stop was at Lamorawan. It was a shrine of some sort where you can see smaller islands.
This is absolutely more amazing in person. Getting out of the boat and hopping on the island is a bitch though. |
Ave Maria |
We spent the the rest of the morning here. From where your boat will dock, you'll have to swim a little further to see fish. Life vests will be provided but make sure to bring your own snorkeling stuff cause they don't have any. BRING FISH FOOD! Bread will do. No corals but the fish at this spot are awesome.
With heavy hearts, we had to go back at around 11am to pack, check-out, have lunch, and head to Ilo-ilo. Upon reaching the resort, we went out to this seafood place called JM's Seafood, just right outside the resort. We ordered food right away so they'll be cooking while we're getting ready to check-out.
After packing our stuff, getting ready, and paying for the boat and van, we left our luggage and had lunch at JM's.
Sweet chili crabs anyone? |
We got a kilo of crabs, a kilo of shrimps, pork belly, chopseuy, and lots of rice. I could only chow on the pork belly since I am allergic to seafood. Total damage was around 2,000 pesos. Not the best seafood fest I've had but I'm guessing it wasn't too bad either.
After lunch, we hauled our stuff and dropped by the Guisi Lighthouse.
Awesome people |
Forgot the name of this beach |
After visiting this spot, we went straight to the port, rode a ferry (I'm not sure what it was), and reached Ilo-ilo in no time. From there, we hired a cab to take us to the airport and make pasalubong stops along the way. We stopped by Margec’s Cream Horn, Original Biscocho Haus, Ramboy's, and Tinukib.
Since our flight back to Manila was a little late, we had enough time to waste at the airport. We were able to grab some la paz batchoy and charge our phones.
Anyway, here's the damage for day 4:
Not enough time to explore Guimaras. Best to spend at least two days to make the most out of the islands and beaches. Slather on lots of sunscreen, bring your own gears, don't forget your cameras, and invest in a good beach towel and small cooler.
We'll definitely be back here.
